Judging from your avatar, do you also have fair skin and blonde hair?
If you find that pinks and reds wash you out, use berry toned lipstick shades, or light mauves and plums.
Try a dab of gold gloss on top of your berry lips.
The berry colour does not need to be dark, it could just be a light stain.
If you can't be bothered to find a lip colour that will do you justice (I know the feeling, LOL)
Just play up your green eyes with black, dark brown, navy or grey liner and black mascara, and some peach or pink blush, and a clear supershiny gloss.

Speaking for most men...
Kissing a girl with lipstick on is like kissing a sticky, melted Crayola Crayon (only the Crayon tastes better)
Just don't wear lipstick or lip gloss (an absorbable moisturizer will be just fine) and tell everyone you're wearing "lip-colored lipstick..."
Since there's no such thing, and none of your girlfriends will be able to find it in the stores...
You'll be the envy every other girl in gym class...
And keep us guys away from the Crayons...

Use a coral color or a nude color, it will compliment your tone well, also if you want to use other colors, Cover Girl makes a trublend lipstick, so depending on your skin tone there is colors that go with your skin

I think you should wear lip gloss instead of lipstick, and wear clear or a very natural color.

Wear a very light maybe even white-ish color or a very rich, dark color- Like 'Buttered Rum' color
It can also make you look classy when it's a dark ample color

Usually a tinted lipgloss over a neutral beige lipstick/lip liner works great.

well depending on what hair color you have and skin tone, you should try neutrals.
