America likes to make other countries feel beholding. It usually works. It's like you whooping my butt but insisting on paying all my hospital bills. It's almost like an apology but not quite. The message is sent, "we're good guys but don't f**k with the US".

Because we aren't fighting the country -- or the citizens of that country -- we are fighting a select few individuals with certain beliefs. We were attacked by individuals and we are attacking individuals.
As the world democratic leaders the United States has the obligation to do the right thing. If we kill thousands of innocents while attempting to make the world a safer place the least we can do is help rebuild their schools, roads, and infrastructure.
Often times war is necessary. How we handle ourselves in those wars however, and the quality of our character affects how our country/civilians will be perceived for years to come.
Your question should be "Why NOT do the right thing?"
As for your reference to no one rebuilding the towers and the Pentagon... who do you want to rebuild them? Al Qaeda?
I hope you don't mean the Afghanistan people... they were living under tyranny from Al Qaeda and had nothing to do with the attacks. Plus, I don't think you would want to trust their engineers... experience building caves and tunnels does not translate well into hundred story sky-scrapers.
I also hope you don't mean the Iraqi people... they had nothing to do with the attacks either. And again, engineers...

We rebuild after we get in a war because if people would look at facts each time the only ones that profit from war are those that scream with glee at the mention of a new one for they know the rebuilding will help them tremendously financially

Who bombed the twin towers and pentagon? So why are we in Iraq, if Iraq didn't have anything to do with the bombings? If we went to war with a country over the 9/11 bombings, the rationale country of choice would be Saudi Arabi, since most if not all the terrorists were Saudi.
So, what are we doing in Iraq?

There really is no right anwser. I would think its mainly just politics. If we just desimate a country with war and then leave it - we are no better than those who attacked us or the Germans in WWII ... honestly its what seperates us from the rest of the world. Besides ... there are innocent families and people in Iraq who have nothing against us ... are we supposed to just leave them in ruins? I am sure alot of it is human compassion or its simply stupidity...who knows. As for if we are winning the war? - we are lucky the fighting has not reached US borders. Saddam is no longer in power or alive for that matter and Al-Qaieda is running scared .. we might not be winning but we damn sure arent losing

Who destroyed the Pentagon! It was no 757-200!
What are you complaining about, you can get more corporate welfare, though in the case of Iraq we should rebuild it!
If Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 or terrorist, how do you come to the conclusion that they should rebuild what we have destroyed with our not very smart bombs? You make no sense whatsoever!
And Cyclops, we already attacked Mexico where we were illegally! Where do you think we got California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Puerto Rico? We stole them from the Mexicans by being their illegally! Duh!!!

Iraq didn't run planes into the twin towers, or the Pentagon. If you are going to vent, at least educate yourself first.
EDIT- We are not winning this war. In case you haven't been paying attention to anything. Just because we destroyed a country doesn't mean we have done anything productive.

We rebuild for the descent citizens. Yes, no one helped us, but that is why God Blessed America, because of our big hearts. As for as Japan, our President took care of that situation in a matter of minutes and we replaced our on ships. We go when others need help, we do not get any our self, but it is better to give than receive, literally.

actually, there's a technical policy that says that the victor of a war has to rebuild the country it destroyed. i don't know if this just applies to America or not, but i do know that it's a recorded statement somewhere, not just something to do

It's called a 'facade'. This is what they want us to think we are there for. They use something nice to cover up something else they are doing that isn't as acceptable.
How on earth can we be rebuilding Iraq if we keep destroying it? They keep destroying it too....somehow, it doesn't really make sense.
