When you go to bed at nite do you make it all nite w/o having to get up & use the bathroom? IF you do make it all nite, there's no reason you're going to have an accident if you don't run & go every hr. It means your bladder is large enuf to be able to "hold it" all the nite time hrs. Why would the day time be any different. (Unless you consume a lot of fluids during the day) I'd say you have a good case of the "what if's" I call it. Like what if this, what if that. But, 99.9% of the time the "what if's" never happen! You've got yourself all worked up worrying about it & thinking about it far TOO OFTEN. When you go, do you really go a lot or just a little. I don't think you're even giving yourself time for your bladder to fill up. You also can work on "tightening" the muscle that controls "holding it". You can do that anywhere. In your seat at work, standing or doing whatever. This way you'll know you would be able to "control" it even if for a short while to allow you to get to a bathroom. I think you're consentrating on "it" too much & it's become an obsession w/you now. Unless you do have a medical reason or a small bladder & you really DO have to go. I did have a problem for a short while & was just unable to hold it. Went to a drug store to pick up a scrip, went directly from work & forgot to go before I went. Wellllll, I couldn't do a thing about it. Was in an aisle & it just came! LUCKILY, I had on black slacks & a 3/4 length coat. I did NOT make a puddle on the floor (haha), walked up & got my Rx, got in the car & went home. Yes, I was uncomfortable, but the world didn't come to an end, & I was fortunate I had on black slacks. Try timing it on wk. ends when you're home & actually see how long you can go w/o "going". This way you'll have an idea of your being able to time it elsewhere. TRY NOT to dwell on it. That's unless you do have a medical situation. I don't think things are as bad as you think they are. Mind over matter!

Hi, it's a difficult one isn't it, as I presume you are too embaressed to ask your GP, ect.
You ask if it's normal for adults to wet their pants?? No, it's not, although I am sure it happens to some every now and again, more chance if acohol is involved. You also ask how long it would take to get to that point?? May I make a suggestion. If you really are that worried about it, why don't you, when you are on your own one day, test yourself to your limit to see how long you can wait?? You may be suprised, and this may give you some assurance that when it happens in public, you will be able to cope, that you will know the feelings involved, and have experienced them and understand them.
If that doesn't work then maybe a trip to your GP is the only other answer.
Good luck, and try not to worry about it so much. If it hasn't happened yet, chances are it won't happen in the future.

The more you think about it the more urges your going to get so don't think about it so much. Just try to use the restroom before class and don't drink like a fish when you're in class so you don't get the urges as much. Try learning or understand your body on what it can and cannot do so you can learn how to control your urges in all situation. Just relax and take a deep breathe, get your mind focus on something else beside going to the restroom or wetting your pants.

you are going to make yourself crazy about peeing.
limit your liquid intake. before class go to the restroom and try not drink anything during your lecture.
before you go to the car, go to the bathroom and you should be fine.
don't be like me, who is a grown @## lady and almost peed on herself at the front door because i did not go to the restroom before i got in the car.
i know public restrooms are not the greatest to expose your tush to the toilet. now i carry those lysol wipes in a sandwich bag in my purse/backpack and hand santizer.
wipe the toilet off and lay down the paper (when available) if not squat (keep your balance) hell, squat when the paper is available.
wash your hands. make sure you use paper towel to open the door. (some people do not exercise cleaniness, pee or boo-boo and walk straight out the bathroom, nasty hephas).
once you exit the bathroom use your hand santitizer.
if this doesn't resolve your fear. talk to a professional. maybe your fear of peeing stems from something deeper, perhaps a traumatic experience.
good luck

You could try wearing an overnight panty liner to give you more security. Otherwise, might not help to see a psychiatrist.

1] wear one of the pantyliners available for this.
2] talk to a counselor - it could be stress related.
