does love have an expiration date? i very often hear people say that they have been in love several times. does this just mean that they were wrong or that the love wasn't true. maybe i'm just reading too far into it but i've been stuck with the thought in my mind for a while now. could it be that while we do love there is no such thing as "true" love?

i'm sorry to say that my "religion" is very scattered. its composed of many beliefs that do not match my label. i believe in God, but not a devil nor a hell. i don't trust priests, bible or prophecies and i do agree with reincarnation. though, i don't think religious beliefs has much to do with the matter.

My personal opinion is that each of us has a soulmate and true love somewhere out there waiting for us. Sometimes though we find ourselves enamored by someone and we think it is love, but it isnt true love. I know for myself there have been a few times I really thought I was in love and when it didnt work out, I was very hurt, so much to the point of laying in bed for days crying. I've learned a few things about myself and know that because of childhood abuse I was always looking for someone to love me that I could love too and I always seemed to fall in love so quickly. After my divorce and another failed relationship after that I finally decided I wasnt ever going to love again and all I wanted was to have my sexual needs met, which at that time my sex drive skyrocketed. I joined some singles sites to hookup and was really enjoying myself without having to deal with all that comes with a relationship. During that time I had a few guys that I had feelings for, but I didnt stop hooking up. Then I met my fiance online. He lives in another country and we have "been together" now for 9 months. From the moment I fell in love with him, I closed all my accounts and emailed all my "buddies" to let them know I was no longer available. Now I know there is more to love than sex, but for me to give it up completely and be faithful to my fiance was all I needed to know he was my true love, cuz believe me, I never did that for anyone. So I kind of equate things with sex. The thought of another man touching me is disgusting. So yes I believe there is love and then there is true love. The problem is in knowing which is which and only each of us can determine that for themselves. Hope this helps and sorry it is so long.

The love that fades is the infatuation love, the phase where the other person is all you think about and the feelings are very strong. Good thing that fades, or you would be obsessed with one person, one thing, for the rest of your life. Passion is a gift, but too much of a good thing can be harmful.
Real love is when you don't feel those feelings all the time, but you still choose to love the person. True love is a choice. If you stick with a person because of who they are and because you care about them more than a high, when they become family, that's what's golden.

it's the first stage... or a crush. in love two people need to be submerged completly with eachother. like best friends. i don't know if you know what i'm trying to say, you guys need to be more like best friends to find out. because sometimes when you discover the other person more, you may not like them... sorry but butterflies and shivers are just a sign of attraction

don't read too much into it...cause once you find it...you'll give yourself a big smack on the forehead saying "THAT WAS IT THE WHOLE TIME???"
it's better to just do the regular dating...find someone that fits your basic needs in an opposite sex...and see if you have similarity's or maybe opposites attract...depends I guess (this is just one thing to mention on how irrational love can be).
don't look for love...let love find you...(cliche'...I know)

oohh, just the other day my sister told me that the love people feel when they fall in love is just a chemical in their brain that lasts for about two years and makes you nutty then starts to fade. perhaps that is just lust, and real love is like the love you have for your family, you know?
