I know you don't like tea, but it is very good for your throat, you don't have to take it if you don't want to but it would help a lot. Vitamin C will also help a lot. take lots of vitamin C tonight. Also if you have echinacia that helps a lot for colds too. Drink lots of water tomorrow. Not just before your audition but at least 4 hours before it because it takes water 4 hours to actually reach your muscles. Take water to your audition too though. And don't drink Ice water whatever you do, this will freeze your vocal cords. Don't any dairy products at least half an hour before your audition either because dairy products will clog your throat. Get lots of rest tonight. Hopefully with enough rest and vitamin C you will be feeling as good as new tomorrow. Oh I almost forgot garlic helps too. but not garlic powder it has to be from the actual garlic. take one clove of garlic and put in the microwave for thirty seconds then spread it on a piece of toast with butter. Its not that bad. well good luck!

Go to GNC and get Throat Coat! I know you don't like tea, but this stuff will help. It doesn't taste great (at least not in everyone's opinion), but it will coat your throat so you can sing better. Have some here and there and as well as a few minutes before you sing. If you prefer a true home remedy, the old warm tea and honey is best. A steamy shower is good too, but be careful that you don't go right into the cold afterward. Even just going from the warm bathroom to your regular or cold temp house... breathe through your nose and through a towel until you adjust to the temp change. Temp changes are not good! I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but consider a scarf even if it's not that cold.

By the way, Vitamin C will take too long to be effective by tomorrow. If it makes you feel better to take, then by all means take it. I don't recommend a salt water rinse. In my opinion it could constrict the mucus membranes and leave your throat too dry to perform.

Break a leg!

Lemon and Honey are the big ones, along with gargling with warm salt water. A tea made with a teasponful of thyme, half a lemon, and a couple of sprigs of mint works wonders (This is a medicine NOT a cup of tea). Whole chicken boiullion also helps clear and soothe the throat. Wrap your throat in a warm, moist towel and try some steam therapy. Licorice is also good for the throat. Altoids of Fisherman's Friend Lozenges are good as are Ricola. Stay awayfrom the stickier candies they can gum up as much as they soothe. Yes C helps.
If you're of age I put a shot of Scotch and a tablespoon of honey in the thyme tea and make a toddy. Peppermint is also more effective than spearmint, and you can get peppermint tea, but look on the box, you want peppermint, not peppermint flavored.

Take a very long hot shower in the morning. Drink lots of water(not ice cold-room temperature would be best). Mix together equal parts honey and lemon(honey to sooth and lemon to clear out any phlegm or mucus) heat it in the microwave a minute or so and take little sips tonight and tomorrow before the audition. Take some Tylenol or Advil before bed tonight.
Give yourself a long gentle warm up tomorrow of at least 15 minutes. (Doing this in the shower would be good)

And no, Vitamin C will do nothing for you by tomorrow. It is a long term immune system booster but zinc is better.

Good Luck!

All great advice already given.
- Warm drink (with lubricating liquids such as honey or loosening compounds such as Salt).
- Gargling is better (before actually swallowing the drink)
- Herbal teas have more benefits than standard teas.
- Steaming can help. Direct application is better.
- I have heard of (and tried) gargling Port, which worked quite nicely for me.
- Some of my friends refuse to speak when they have damaged their vocal chords. This is an additional technique not one on its own.
- Hot water bottle or hot-bead bag around the throat.

Have a look at some of the links below for more ideas.

Vitamin C can really help- Since you don't like 'tea' You can drink hot water with honey or just the water itself, rest your voice and don't use it drink lots of water and have some soup! Hope you do well at auditions, because i know how it feels!! Don't get too nervous and wreck your voice again!

I have been singing pretty much all of my life, doing plays in school, community theater, and gigs around town. I also suffered from chronic tonsillitis, until I had the darn things removed a few years ago. Whenever my throat hurt or my voice was being affected, I would steam myself--Hold my head over a pot of steaming water with a towel draped over me. just breathing in steam. Sounds weird but it worked like a charm every time.

Warm herbal tea with honey and lemon. Drink lots of water. Get plenty of rest. Don't talk or whisper unnecessarily. Don't sing without gently warming your voice up first.

Whole Foods stores sometimes carry an herbal spray for singers. It tastes nasty, but it works.
