Ours didnt. He only cried when the nurse took him to do his apgar test. Then the dr. and dad took him and he was quiet. Guess he did not like that nurse! Our son does not cry much. Only when he is hungry

My daughter did not cry right away. We were two days shy of 35 weeks, and I was afraid she wasn't going to have fully developed lungs and be able to breathe on her own, so when she didn't cry I was pretty panicked. She was a c-section, so I kept asking my husband and everyone else in the room if she was ok. They rushed her out to the nursery, so I didn't hear her cry until several hours later, after I was out of recovery. My son cried right away, and all I kept saying was "That's the most beautiful sound in the world." BTW, my daughter's APGAR was 5 when she came out, 8 at five minutes. She will be three on Thursday, and is healthy, happy, and gorgeous. My son was a 9/9 APGAR.

Well actually when my son was born they were trying to keep everyone in the room calm because they didn't want him to be crying too much. He has passed his first bowel movement (meconium) in the womb and we could see it when my water broke. But he cried right away anyway and the nurses had a time trying to suck the rest of the fluid out of his lungs to make sure he was going to be okay and not get sick from the meconium in his lungs. Other than that, he was a healthy boy at 8 lbs and 11 oz!

I had a difficult labor and when my son came out, there was nothing. I worked in the same L&D I delivered in and I didn't want to panic, but I got kinda freaked and kept asking, " Why isn't he crying ?" And then all of a sudden, he started screaming and didn't stop for awhile. In fact, I had to have surgery right after, so they took him to the nursery so I could rest. At about 3 am, one of the aides brought him to me screaming his little head off and said, " I'm so sorry, we need to put him here with you. He's crying so loud, he's waking the other babies " Kind of funny now.

1st baby - no crying. Born at 28 week with RDS (Respiratory Distress Syndrome). Put on ventilator.
2nd baby - cried immediately, no complications (and I cried when I heard her cry, such a relief after the problems with 1st baby)

Yes all 4 of my babies cried when they were born. If they do not cry immediately the doctor usually gets them to cry.

I had a bit of a hard time, my son kept going back in whenever I stopped pushing, so they used a vacuum extractor on me, and when he came out, he didn't cry, even after they cut his cord. I remember feeling panicked, and kept asking why he wasn't crying, the doctor told me that he was okay, and that its perfectly normal for him not to cry immediately, as he finished explaining this to me, my son let out this huge cry, and wouldn't stop for a few minutes.. Of course, I started crying when I heard him, it was a sigh of relief.
