I am 24, about 170 lbs and 5'2". I went from a 34C bra to a 38D in about a year. I now suffer shoulder and neck pain that is almost constant. I also work a desk job and sleep on an old mattress. But my breasts are very heavy and unfortunately sag a great deal. Should I see a chiropractor or a plastic surgeon first? I'd rather not have to have a surgery, but my breasts are pretty uncomfortable anyway. I don't have a lot of money to spend on doctor's visits since I am going to school in a couple of months, but I know my insurance would cover the BR surgery. Has anyone had this problem? Are there any chiropractors or plastic surgeons that can help me with this?

I don't believe chiropractors can really help for long term relief, unless you visit them ALL the time, and I'm sure they'd love your money to pay for their new vacation home!

IMO, a breast reduction will greatly reduce your back shoulder and neck pain. I too had constant pain and it was relieved the moment I woke up in the recovery room.

Insurance paid 100% for mine. You should look in your health directory for a plastic surgeon. If you go out of the directory you could pay more out of pocket. See at least THREE plastic surgeons in your directory before picking one to do your surgery.

Check out their before and after pictures. Understand that if the after picture is only a few months post op that you will still see scarring, but if you look at them one year post op you will have a better idea of what the scars will look like. Mine are barely noticeable, you really have to look to see where they were.

I was a 38J to a 38C Feb 2006.

These two sites are a great help:

http://www.bfar.org
http://www.breasthealthonline.com

That last site helped me 10000% with regards to my research, and support before and after surgery.

good luck and feel free to contact me.

As for the others comments. Working out and losing weight may not actually help you. I did not lose ANY in the breast when I lost weight. I know some who have gained a cup size while working out and I know some who have lost. You could always TRY working out but it MAY NOT HELP.

With a reduction, they take out all the fat that they can, so getting bigger in the breast by gaining weight after a reduction will be minimal at best.

Yes you COULD always try a supportive bra, but sometimes even THAT doesn't work. Believe me I've tried!

Hi,

Make the best of both worlds. I'd try the chiropractor first, and you may be very happy that you did, if its an alignment problem he'd be the first to know and could help you in a few sessions. Oh, while you're in the Chiro's office, ask him about his opinion about reduction surgery for your situation. He also gave me good information about how to carry things, how to sit, and what sort of bras to buy. (Very-very important.)
Then, if necessary, for posture and fit of clothes and self esteem, I'd see the plastic surgeons a little later, you'll need recovery time from the reduction surgery, and you may want to include it into your schedule.

It sounds like alot of your problems stem from being overweight. Go on a diet, excercise, and the more weight you lose the better you will feel. Trust me, those 38 D boobs will probably go back to a 34 C once you are at a healthy weight again. The max weight someone your height should be is around 135-140. I'm 5'2'' and weigh 121 and I have a 34 D bra size. I don't have all the back problems you do because I'm very active and I don't have the extra 50 pounds dragging me down. Losing weight is also a heck of a lot cheaper than getting lipo.

First of all, I am not a Doctor, but I do have an answer to your problem. The best thing you can do is diet & excercise to lose weight. Your breasts have enlarged due to fatty tissue cells being stored there, and the extra weight is causing your back pain. It will be tough putting in the extra effort, especially with a desk job, but chiropractic work and plastic surgery is only a temporary fix at best.

Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

Be careful if you decide to go to a chiropractor, having you neck cracked is associated with higher risk of stroke. Your best bet is to lose a little weight.

Token is correct. If you get plastic sergery and then gain weight you will be back where you started from. A weight loss program would be the safest in my opinion. Are you single?

Invest in some good bras and that will help, and I would try the Chiro. first. They have helped me a lot. (I'm a DDD myself)
