its not that im really looking, im just a flirt when single. example, i stopped at the chevron to get a pepsi, i parked the service truck, climbed out, and right next to me these two very nice looking girls were getting into their car, they looked up at me and i winked and said hi girls how it going? the one of them made a noise that wasnt even a word just a sound of disgust. i guess she was a snob but im no ugly duclkling so i just wonder. i clean up great and right when i get home, i wear nice clothes and im very picky about my hair so it is usualy always nice.

If I wasn't already married I would date you.I find it extremely attractive when a man comes home after a hard days work doing something very masculine such as working on big rigs and getting dirty.
As apposed to a yuppie that goes to work and sits in front of a computer all day and on his days off goes and gets a manicure and hangs out at Starbucks sipping Lattes and Cuppachinos with other brainless twits.
Your probably the type of man who can carry on an intelligent conversation in any social setting and really appreciates a home cooked meal.
As opposed to going out and eating bad food served by rude waitresses in 1 star restaurants.
Besides I've always said that if your going to drive it you might as well know how it works and be able to fix it if anything goes wrong.
These days most men can't even fix a flat tire let alone work on a big truck.
Without their cell phone and road side assistance they'd be lost.
Ahh those were the days when men were men and women were women and everything was as it should be.
Now men like you can't even get a decent woman because their all screwed up thinking they need a man that hangs out at Barnes N Noble all day with his head stuck in a book and his shoulders slumped like a spineless whimp.
But I remember back when a man like that only got a woman if he was very very lucky and she was drunk.
And men like you were in demand and very sought after.
I'm sorry if this is depressing it's just I miss the good old days when men were real men and women were real women and both appreciated eachother.
I don't think being a deisel mechanic will hold you back from getting woman as long as your not living in California.

Well, my dad is an auto mechanic and comes home often with that smell. I personally love it. It's comforting to me. My boyfriend works with asphalt and he comes home with a really strong oil and dirt smell, and again I love it. There's nothing wrong with coming home smelling still fresh and clean, but there's something about a dirty job that sometimes says a man is a man.

Long as you have a great personality and somewhat good looking. I'd also like it if you cleaned up a little after you got home. The thing is, you have to be a little clean but I don't care what you smell like.

A hard working man is always attractive no matter what his profession is. Plus I'm sure you clean up well. Maybe you just need to get yourself out there more. Good luck hun.

well for me, I find the smell of diesel comforting (I work on an ambulance-diesel truck-so I'm used to the smell).

doesn't matter what a guy does for a living, as long as a) he has a job, b) it isn't illegal, c) he's proud of what he does or at least not ashamed.

my husband is a set up tech and he sometimes comes home covered in grease from the molds. I always tell people that what is inside the person is what counts. Maybe you are trying to hard, I stop worrying and stopped looking and look where I am now!!

For some reason a man that gets dirty or has a physical job makes me feel safer... Not that someone who works in an office would not.
As far as I can say, I think it is SEXY!!! I am sure you wash up well ...!

um well the coming home dirty and gross is kinda a trun off. being a mechanic is fine. you just need to find someone that wont care how you come home. if they love your looks and personality then y should it matter. but it is one thing to come home dirty and stay that way for hours but it is another thing to come home and take a shower asap.

i think its cool to have a man that can fix stuff
but clean hands and hair are very important when meeting women and i know its tough when you are deisel mechanic but i think as long as you use a fingernail brush you should be fine

welll, i think nerds are sexy and i'm a tree hugger so i'm not sure if i'd date someone that works with diesel. probably not. but yeah if you're a really good person and at least a little smart(not saying that you arn't) then i'd date someone like you.
