Gays in the military? I knew several. They did OK as long as they kept it to themselves and didn't flaunt it. I'm not sure it would be a good thing if gay people served openly - but, to be honest, I'm not sure if it would be a bad thing, either.
Gay marriage? The best idea I've heard so far is to take marriage out of the hands of government. Government should be an impartial observer in people's lives; its only mandate should be to protect us against force and fraud. Government should not be as big a part of our lives as it is now. There should be no government benefit or penalty for being either single or married. If gay people can find someone who will marry them, well, have a blast and don't get too drunk.

I think in the military, some things are best left unsaid, but if someone behaves professionally, no problem - but if they hit on someone who is not interested, they should be treated like a guy who hits on a woman who is not interested.
As for gay marriage, as long as I don't have to go to any gay weddings, I don't care (I bet that's what a lot of the objection is), they aren't bothering me. Hey and if you really don't like gays, you should allow gay marriage but not gay divorce.

As a former soldier gays in the Military didn't bother me, but there are rules when your in the Military the UCMJ, when it comes to relationships, and fraternization. Those rules are in place to ensure discipline and order. Gay marriage should not be allowed, I know most liberals don't believe in god, but there is more evidence God Exits than there is that god doesn't, so god's law states marriage is a union of man and woman, and on another note every time a Major empire started down on there demise homosexuality gained strength and was accepted in that particular culture the Romans, Egyptians, Greeks. Just thoughts to ponder.

Don't Ask Don't Tell is a ridiculous idea. People can take advantage of it and use it to "out" the people they dislike. Gays should certainly have equal rights in the military.
I don't see how gay marriage would hurt. I'm not an active supporter, but I'm not against it either.

Pro to both.
I support the troops and I am pro-marriage; therefore I am for GLBT Americans serving openly in the military and am for gay and lesbian couples to have full marriage rights. I challenge anyone to suggest that somehow gay marriage will hurt the sanctity of the institution of marriage.

I feel any person willing to put their life on the line for a bull sh_t war like the one our children are fighting now, deserve a great big salute - the same as the rest of the people that have ever fought in the name of “The United States of America”.
No more, and God knows, no less.
A Soldier fights not for the fear in front of them, they fight for what’s behind them.
Marriage on the other hand, is between anyone willing to take that step. (again)

I'm in the military, and I have no problem with homosexuality. Don't gays deserve the same rights the rest of us enjoy? They deserve the right to serve our country, and they deserve the right to be happily married. No one deserves the chance to rob them of their human rights.
The people who have a problem with this are trying to force their religion on others. THAT is a violation of the rights of other Americans. Honestly, does it hurt anyone if gay people serve our country and get married? NO.

Gays and Lesbians should be allowed to serve openly if they so choose. Gay marriage - no problem with that.
