Abortion is not okay. The child has no say. Give your baby up for adoption if you're that much against having one. Millions of people in this world would love to have a baby but cannot.
Capital punishment is debatable. In theory, an eye for an eye seems like a decent rule. However, when it comes to capital punishment in China or the Middle East they take it way to the extreme and kill people sometimes over hardly anything.
Therefore, I would say that capital punishment is a slippery slope and that much thought should be put into it before just executing people for the 'wrong' they have done.

The answers that people have given here illustrate the fallacy implicit in the question.
Virtually every "pro-life" person I've come across here advocate using women with unwanted pregnancies as incubators for the benefit of infertile couples. Those are not the words they use, but it's the gist of their argument. If there ever was a compelling reason to keep abortion legal, this is it: abortion is "ok" because the wishes of infertile couples do not furnish any valid basis for exploiting other women's bodies to fulfill those needs. Abortion is "ok" because personhood begins only outside the womb; and that goes for you too, Bible-thumpers -- check out the passages in the Leviticus which mandate that adultresses be put to death regardless of whether they are pregnant, and an abortion punished by a fine, rather than death. Abortion is "ok" because it is no business of the government to protect women from doing something that will "haunt them" later on. Grown men and women make decisions every day that they may later regret; being a fully-fledged human endowed with basic inalienable rights entails both the freedom to make personal choices and the responsibility to live with the consequences. If abortion is outlawed on the ground that it is emotionally traumatic, we might as well outlaw adoption as well -- I am sure there are lots of women who gave up their infants and were "haunted" later.
Capital punishment is not okay, because it involves the killing of fully grown and independently viable human beings.

I agree with abortion for the right reasons and I also agree with Capital Punishment. In abortion the fetus is only 4 weeks old and not even near a human being or form and if a girl was raped why should she have to keep this not fully formed human being. Where as Capital Punishment there fully grown human beings and should know how to adapt properly in society and by taking someone's life when they should know better is not exceptable and therefore they should die out of their will as well.

Abortion is generally about a woman having something growing inside her body that she doesn't want, and capital punishment is about society having something permanently incarcerated inside a prison that it doesn't want.
I always found it strange that some people say "abortion is murder" but the same people don't call capital punishment murder. This is perhaps one area where the Catholic Church is actually consistent on opposing any form of death.
I guess the bottom line always depends on whether you consider a feotus as a human being than can be "killed" or as a "part" of the mother's body that she has control over.

Both are fine in my book. Actually we need harsher punishments. Like chopping off a finger for stealing or an entire hand for armed robbery. A tongue for slander and a toe for evading the police. All done in the courtroom, lawfully. People would act more civilised if it meant ruining their psychical appearance. We are a vain country.

It baffles me. Also, you will find the same people that think abortion is okay, to be animal rights activists. You know, even catch and release of fish is not okay, because of the psychological damage to the fish. What about the damage to the unborn, but feeling, and alive child? What about the damage to the woman, when she is haunted by what she did, the rest of her life.

What about other government-sanctioned killings? war? self-defense? defense of others? Some people probably think some of these killings are ok, while the others are deplorable. I guess it just reflects our experiences and values- that is why we all have different views.
