Instead of buying the knee covers at the store, I just took an old pair of socks and cut off the toe part and put that on his knees. It worked and it was free!!!! I think he only needed it for a few weeks and then he didn't seem to be bothered by crawling with nothing on his knees.

Rub a bit of vaseline in her knees at night. Don't go nuts with it though because it is good for her knees to toughen up a little! In the meantime, keep her in long pants or a sleeper that keeps her knees covered when she is crawling. If the carpet burn seems to ooze at all, then use neosporin instead of vaseline and cover with a couple bandaids as well.

My youngest daughter got that when she was learning to crawl. I put diaper rash cream on it when she wouldn't be crawling - like before bed or if she was in a high chair (so it wouldn't rub off with her crawling). Then I started putting her in pants while we were home, until she learned to crawl better. It went away and never came back. When she started crawling better I let her wear shorts and onsies more and she was fine.

Dress her in overalls. My first son loved crawling only if he had pants on; put vaseline on her knees.
My second son would crawl on cement with bare knees, and slide down wooden steps with just a diaper on, belly down and head first!

Baby specialty stores carry baby knee wraps that are made to protect their little knees. You could probably even use an Ace self adhesive wrap on her.

Poor baby...I would out neosporin on her knees and hold her as much as you can until it goes away. Then I would put jeans on her. Hope she feels better and isn't too crabby until then. Oh, you could also give her some infant tylenol, if you are okay with medicating your daughter...
