That word does have a negative connotation. I try to look at it as an opportunity to learn. And I guess that's the answer. A mistake is when you don't learn from your mistake.

Personally I think a mistake is something that occurs by accident and is not meant to happen. The word is thrown around way too much these days like Lindsay Lohan saying driving a car while intoxicated was a "mistake". Is she saying that she accidentally drank the alcohol, accidentally got behind the wheel, accidentally put her keys in and then accidentally drove it? Come on this wasn't a mistake... it was stupidity! Admit it Lindsay!

(good question - one star coming right up)

A mistake is an error in action or judgement. It can be a forgiven and/or fixed. For example: "I made the mistake of setting my coffee cup to close to the edge of the table." I can clean up the mess, I can replace the broken cup. I errored in my judgement of where to place the cup.

a mistake can many times be fixed; it is a wrong move, that on further consideration was something the person would not normally have done

I BELIEVE IT IS A 'MIS-DOING' that should be taken as a learning experience and not to be repeated

I love your question!!!!!!!!!

My thought...... A mistake is: "GUILT."

That feeling you have in your tummy, heart and mind that never leaves. That is a mistake.

Good Job!!!!
