We don't say it at the end of a sentence oh my God.
Do you see how stupid that sounds oh my God?

The majority of us Americans do not say "oh my God" at the end of every sentence. It is a phrase that is generally used once in awhile to state a feeling of shock, surprise, anger and/or frustration.
Some tweens (9-13) use the phrase, yet it is not something that would be said to frequantly.
Have a great day!

Usually it is a sentence preface indicating a state of shock or surprise. Only known deviation from this would be Moon Unit Zappa's novelty hit "Valley Girl," or an echo from real live California valley girls whom repeatedly gag themselves with a spoon or a microchip to produce the effect.

The one I'm trying to figure out is ' I'm an American'.
Every European in earshot knew that already the moment I opened my mouth. I know that. It took me three years of knowing to stop saying it. And it still comes out at the worst times.
Why? Oh why?

watch less TV/movies. Interact with more Americans in real life. You'll find this was a silly question.

We don't. =/
Don't cluster any group of people together like that. 99% of the time, it will be untrue.
"Oh my God" is an expression of suprise or disbelief.
