Whether your vehicle's wheel gets heated up or you are asking just to know the reason, well the reason why the tires gets heated up after a speedy drive is due to friction between your tires and road and also due to the friction of brakes....

The tire gets hot because of the friction developed by the constant flexing of the side wall. Look at the base of the tire where it bulges. The wheel gets hot because of the friction at the axle, which is why it is important to use the right grease on the axle bearings. There is also some friction at the brake pads and shoes, that's how they work, and properly adjusted brakes have slight contact when they are released.

Cut this problem significantly by doing four things.
#1. Wheel alignment and balancing is important
#2. Be absolutely certain your caliper pistons and sliders aren't sticking.
#3. Use compressed nitrogen (an inert gas) in your tires instead of filthy damp air in your tires. Air pressures will not increase in heat or decrease in cold temperatures as much as air. Most importantly tire temps will not get as hot regardless what the ambient temperature is.
#4. Keep tires inflated to no less than 4 psi. of the number stamped on the tire not the door post.

If you have a wheel getting hot after driving fast, you either have a sticking brake caliper, or bad wheel bearings (or both).
Get this looked at pronto!

Is it the wheel or the tire? do you have drum brakes or disc? check the bearings for grease.
