Why do people have to be jackasses when they answer questions? If they think your question is weird or think you're lying...they don't have to comment. People really need to take the time to figure things out before jumping all over others and judging them. I was curious as to why you were dying, so I went and looked at the other questions you've asked...and I found out. And I'm sorry and I wish you the best. Anyways..to answer your question: Nearer, My God to Thee is very appropriate. Be Still, My Sould is nice as well. I like Turn, Turn, Turn too - if you think it might be considered as a pop song, play it after? I'm not sure, but that is a good one. You'll Never Walk Alone is alright, though it wouldn't be my choice. The Parting Glass is definate;y a good one, as well. Other songs I reccomend: Amazing Grace (it was played at my friend's funeral) When I Get Where I'm Going My Wish My New Life Has Begun You'll Be In My Heart I think you need to sit down and discuss, with your parents, about the pros and cons of a burial vs. a cremation. I think the celtic football shirts is a great idea. You're young still. You're funeral should not all be grieving...it should be filled with celebration for the life that you DID live. Good luck to you, and ignore the jerks on here. Stay Strong <3

THE DEEPS have music soft and low
Where winds awake the airy spry,
It lures me, lures me on to go
And see the land where corals lie.
The land where corals lie.
By mount and mead, by lawn and rill,
Where night is deep and moon is high,
That music seeks and finds me still,
And tells me where the corals lie,
And tells me where the corals lie.
Yes, press my eyelids close, ’tis well;
Yes, press my eyelids close, ’tis well;
But far the rapid fancies fly
To rolling worlds of wave and shell,
And all the lands where corals lie.
Thy lips are like a sunset glow,
Thy smile is like a morning sky,
Yet leave me, leave me, let me go
And see the land where corals lie,
The land, the land where corals lie.
words by Richard Garnett
music by Edward Elgar, from his “Sea Pictures” suite (1899)
Gweneth and I had decided on this song for our funerals whether together or separately.
Cruelly, this was denied her because I was absent. Another reason why I felt I let her down so badly.
May those who mourn be blessed and see brighter days.

Not in a rush to die, so don't want to think about it! I have young children and a great husband. I have too much to live for to think of a song at my funeral. Death SCARES me ALOT! I admire all of you that can just plan it and deal with it the way you are. Good luck! :)

The song I really want to be played at my funeral IS a religious one though...it's "I can only imagine" by Mercy Me
I can't really answer your question, because pretty much the only music I listen to is christian...well, at least my favorite songs are.

"Old and Wise" by Alan Parsons Project, on the Eye in the Sky album:
==================
As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows approaching me
And to those I leave behind
I wanted you to know
You've always shared my deepest thoughts
You follow where I go.
And, oh, when I'm old and wise
Bitter words mean little to me.
Autumn winds will blow right through me.
And someday in the mist of time
When they ask me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine
And the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh, when I'm old and wise.
As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows surrounding me
And to those I leave behind
I want you all to know
You've always shared my darkest hours
I'll miss you when I go.
And, oh, when I'm old and wise
Heavy words that tossed and blew me
Like autumn winds will blow right though me.
And someday in the mist of time
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine
As the final curtain falls before my eyes
Oh, when I'm old and wise.
