These are volatile times, apparent and obvious, as indicated by questions and answers on this site as well as conversations in our homes and on our streets.

Jev...I am nowhere near the far left, nor the far right. My views are moderate.

Because its the last best hope for freedom on Earth. I mean personal freedom, not neccesarily Democracy, although as a political system it seems to be so far the best out there. But the most important element of freedom-personal-the freedom to express yourself, educate yourself, question things, seek the truth-that is why America is so important, despite many current problems.

My "love" of America is surely not the same as many of the conservative trolls that infest this forum.

I don't wrap myself in the flag or beat the Bible like Mao's red book.

No...my "love" of America is closer to that of Henry David Thorearu or Walt Whitman.

I love the beauty of the great outdoors and the unspoiled beauty of the wilderness.

I love to sink my hands into the sandy loam and work the crops; tilling, planting, weeding and harvesting.

I love to canoe down the rivers, great and small, and leave a small a "footprint" as possible.

I drive less, and bike/walk more.

I try to share some of my own personal wealth with those who have less - for whatever reason. I do not consider myself "superior" to those with less financial wealth.

I love the beauty of America's diversity; the wonderful things that all the various cultures bring to us; the language, the food, the dress, the literature, the music.

I certainly have lived in Europe and enjoyed it, simply by fact i replaced into an American and replaced into no longer locked right into a social caste or barred from larger practise and profession progression by utilising custom, delivery and absence of danger. i ought to consistently pass abode to the land of the loose and the abode of the brave, the conscientious, the compassionate, the forgiving, the tolerant and the best, respectable and harmless.

ohyeah y, read the koran. saying "suck" is totally haram and will make boys think you are immodest.

i love the USA for so many reasons. One reason is the amazing opportunities, which create so much excitement. The way I can travel and start live over wherever I want is a priviledge few societies have. Basically, the US has the greatest resources available for anyone trying to seriously pursue their dreams.

I don't. In fact I despise patriotism. Though it unites the community within, it brings us further from those outside the country. Like Socrates once said, "I am not an Athenian or a Greek, but a citizen of the world." I think all people should think more like that.

In the USA, we don't take little girls out into the middle of football stadiums and chop their heads off so they can retain their "honor."

In the USA, we don't cut off children's hands when they steal. We might punish them, but we're not going to mutilate them.

In the USA, we don't force our women to be subservient and obedient to their husbands. And if they aren't, we aren't obligated to beat or mutilate them.

In the USA, we don't marry our little girls off at the age of 9. To us, they're not worthless.

In the USA, we don't rape female prisoners just to keep them from going to "paradise."

In the USA, we don't force our women to wear veils over their faces. We're not scared of beauty. Most of us aren't scared of sex, either.

Oh, and the fact that I was born and raised here might have something to do with the fact that I love my country.

Because I've seen the alternatives. The illegal immigrants also appear to love to come here also.
