I blame those who enable the kids! If everyone up here just HELPED -- pointed them in the right direction, edited work, solved SIMILAR math problems, etc., then the kids might actually learn something good.
Don't think that if someone does the homework the kids aren't learning! They ARE learning. They are learning that it is OK to cheat, that the assigned work has no value and that the easy way is the best way.
One thing I try to remember to do is congratulate a student who is actually asking for help!
Good question!

why not look at the big picture. Kids do have to pick and choose among the responses, and so have to recognize what answer is correct.
This is a learning situation, in other words. Sure, people are helpful, but what is the purpose of homework? The purpose is to practice the info that was taught in class. If other people lend a hand, the kid is STILL practicing what was taught in class. He is looking at the various responses and picking what sounds right. Thus, he is paying attention to the responses, and learning from the responses.
So the kid learns. Maybe he didn't generate the answer, but he learned from the answer that was given by a respondent. So as long as the kid learns something outside the classroom, I think this is a good situation.

lol, i may have an idea why you posted this question *cough* ahem, tori r's questions about history homework and math. LOL well, i would say to blame both, first of all because they asked us to answer their homework, and people would actually fall for it and do their homework. Maybe i would blame more the people who answered, because if u don't answer at all, then technically, you wouldn't get any answers, so it would be all goood. ;)

I don't like to give answers to math questions because i think they don't learn, they just look for the answer and right it down so they can go an play thier viedo games. What i don't mind however is to give suggestions on how to accomplish thier question, but still encourage them to do the work. I think it is okay to ask, and okay to give advice and opinions, but not to flat out give the answers.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't mind giving advice or explaining something, but it annoys me when kids get on here and are just given answers to their homework assignments.

Don't forget about the parents who aren't making themselves available and wanting to be apart of their kids' school life by ensuring that their kids are understanding their homework.

Well assuming that the kid did not try the problem at all him or her self then I blame thier parents, be more active in your kid's life. Now if they HAVE tried the problem, why do you have one with them asking for help?

OBVIOUSLY the ppl who give them the answers- if the kids are young and the person givign the answers is an adult.
if its a situation where kids are of discenring age and one gives answers to another then both are equally punishable

If the answerers on the site can't tell when they're being asked to DO someone's homework as opposed to HELP with it, WE'RE the fools.... Not the asker.

it incredibly is ridiculous and it incredibly is not like it will help them comprehend it while they get to the incredibly attempt. I each so often provide human beings tricks, yet do no longer explicitly tell them the respond.
