If someone touches me in a loving way. Compliments, gifts & words "can" be shallow. Second would be something done--something thoughtful that wasn't even asked for. I can FEEL sincere love from a touch.

I'm moved to say all of the above, but I believe touch to be the most intimate, and in reverse order to the above I'd rank the ways love is expressed. It is important to say,"I love you" even when everything else is done, it seals and validates the action. Something done commits the lover in action, a compliment in words, and an article or gift in a material object. They are each precious, but being by the bedside of an elderly person or someone who was dying, I know the last and best expression to be tactile. I know, too, parents often give their children things, and those things can't take the place of a single compliment which builds the child's self esteem. I Know, too, many husbands who are quick to compliment their wives, but don't know how to do the simplest chores which would make life easier. You see what I mean by a hierarchy of love?

it depends on who it is from i think. from my boyfriend i feel most loved when he touches me in a loving way like grabbing my hand while walking down the sidewalk. but from my parents or friend i feel most loved when something nice and unexpected is done for me because it shows they were thinking of me.

I feel most loved when someone does an action to benefit me without me having to ask them to do this. Many times in my life my friends were there for me when my parents could not be and I cherish them so much for those times.....They cared for me and saw what I was going through and helped meget through whatever it was that I was having a problem with...........
