The word Logo is short for "Logotype" which are used by a company to act as a symbol for them, like McDonald's Golden Arches or Mercedes' Three point star in a circle, or even the US Flag to the US or the Maple leaf to Canada. They're used so if someone see it, they automatically think of that company or thing/place. A trademark can be a logo, but a logo cannot be a trademark. Trademarks can be pictures, logoish depictions, or even sayings. Think Outside the Bun is Taco Bell's trademark, and Army Strong/Army of One could be considered as trademarks, should the US Army be a licensed corporation. Basically, logos are a company's defining image, like AT&T's sphere with the lines Trademarks are usually saying or slogans, but can be designs, as well, like Home Depot's "You can do it, We can help" or for designs, they usually are pictures or designs that aren't the central theme or they can be a family of pruducts or a theme of products, Like Microsoft Windows, the Flag/Window with four panes of Red-Orange, Green, Blue, and Yellow. That design is a Trademark, but Microsoft and their main design you see anywhere there's microsoft is a logo.
I hope it wasn't too confusing.

Trademarks can be names of products or services, logos, slogans, packaging and even sounds and smells. In essence, a trademark can be almost anything that is used to identify a particular product or service. Registering a trademark grants the owner exclusive rights to the mark within the specified industry.
A logo is typically thought of as the visual image that's identified and/or tied into particular goods/services. You can trademark a logo.
For instance, Nike's ® swoosh design is a Federally registered trademark AND their logo.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
