I disagree. I think Washington was better. He led the troops that won the War of Independence, leading to the creation of the United States of America.

True, Lincoln led the successful effort to preserve the Union, a huge undertaking that ultimately cost the lives of a total of more than 600,000 Union and Confederate soldiers combined, which for a hundred years was more than were lost by the American side in all other wars fought by the United States taken together, including World Wars I and II, Korea, and Vietnam; but the creation of the Nation was orders of magnitude more difficult under almost impossible economic, political, and military conditions.

I really think they both did great things for the country in its "baby days" But Im leaning this way because of the current condition of society.

Washington
After the war his men told him that they would back him in making him leader of the free world. He told them that he did not just get rid of George the III to become George the I.

Both were needed for their place in History. You can't compare them,, they had different missions in this life.
