contrary to popular belief, the georgia aquarium is not the largest. The 2.5 billion gallon "Intersea" in Hung-lou, China, is the largest tank inthe world.

The largest Public Aquarium in the world in the Georgia Aquarium. The largest indoor tank is at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

It would have to be the Georgia Aquarium. Here is an article on what it took to build it, how much salt it originally took to salt the tank etc..

However there are other aquariums that boast to be the largest type based on structure.. But if you compare pure volume of water, number of species kept etc it would have to be the Georgia..

Pacific Ocean. There's still more fish there than all the aquariums combined. Let's hope we can keep it that way!
