you can spend a lot on fake meats if you don't shop around but you can make a lot of things yourself and tofu can be way cheaper then meat so it evens out

I have talked to some of my friends who are vegetarian and they have said that they pay about the same for food as I do.

Although produce is a lot more expensive than the very cheap chips and such it generally doesn't seem to be priced as much as meat.
Eating vegan or organic seems to be a lot more expensive all around.

mabye a little. If you replace all of the hamburgers you eat with veggieburgers or veggiedogs, etc. It probably could cost more, but if you just get fruits, vegetalbes, cheese, etc. then it would be less expensive.

Probably not. Meat is usually more expensive than vegetables and other things. If anything, I'd say they save money.

ounce for ounce, yes. But they eat less than omnivores, so actually it works out to be about the same. Maybe even a little less
