They're supposed to. Here's what to look for:
In the station: Braille or large print signs (there should be both); elevators in working order. And--a strip of material, usually in a contrasting color and diferent texture--running along the platform edge ( this acts as a warning for persons who are totally blind). Dependig on the architecture, there should be ramps in some places, power doors, and if the station uses turnstiles, a gate wide enough for a wheelchair.
On trains: Stops announced both via text signs adnd verbally. Clear spaces where there is room for a wheelchair.

I would say that they do have equipment to aid disabled people. I will also say that Norfolk Southern seriously discriminated against me during the employment process. It's OK, I got a better job, but had to lie about my health. Which means if I get the help that I need I will probably lose my job. You really gotta love it.

I even have 3 little ones with disabilities. there is not any way i could enable a corporation to torture my toddlers. There are different techniques. the college and the dad and mom are the quite handicapped to that end. between the lecturers and the dad and mom, little ones with disabilities may well be helped and taught to act properly.

Call your local Amtrak & ask. See if they provide ramps for wheelchair bound individuals. Ask if they offer any other type of handicap accessable services.
