I am 20 years 0old and have been a smoker for 3 years now. I smoke because I am addicted to nicotine. Sometimes I don't even like it, but I still do it. I think that it is ok to ban smoking in indoor facilities like hotels and especially restaurants, but Bars should at least have a smoking section.

Non-smoker.

It should be an owner's right to choose whether or not to have smoking in their bar/restaurant/hotels. I live in a city where it is banned, and can clearly tell the difference that there is no smoking. It's great! The owners however can lose business. It's their choice-but like I said I have no problem with it because I am not a smoker!

I am a smoker, and I dont mind not smoking in a restraunt, however, in bars where people have always smoked is silly. I own a hotel and I do have smoking rooms, it's not the smoke that bothers me, it's the smokers that let the cigarettes burn on the sink, bathtubs, use floors as ashtrays, burn holes in the comforters, sheets, pillow cases, on and on. That's what will get this a non smoking hotel.

SMOKER. I smoke because the nicotine relaxes me with a quick fix. I understand the ban, however smokers are tax paying patrons also. And we deserve to be accommodated. Businesses could also install patios or smoking rooms with promos and specialty menu items etc. If its a hotel, then common areas are understood, however make other areas assessable for smokers to sit and enjoy the hotel also. If you pay your money somewhere, that should entitle you to a little freedom, as long as others are not BLATANTLY bothered.

I'm a non smoker and so is my husband .... both of our families smoke (all most all of them).

In restaurants yes, the smell of smoke when I'm trying to eat just makes me sick!
In bars or hotels I don't mind it as much but I still hate it.
It would bother me a bit if they banned smoking everywhere.

I have a two year old daughter too so I hate when people smoke around her.
For the girl that said only if you can stop drinking and kids yelling that is not even right. My two year old daughter is very good in public places, she sometimes gets excited but if I tell her to shh she does. (most of the time)

I'm a non smoker with asthma, so I personally feel that they should ban smoking in restaurants. However I do believe that if you are in a bar that they should have a seperate smoking area in the back.

A non-smoker. Smoking in confined spaces air-conds, restaurants, hotels, cineplex should be banned but open places ok. smokers have to smoke somewhere. Toilets are a no-no.

Non smoker. I object to smoking in public places. Yes, smokers have rights, but one's right to breathe clean air should come first. Air filters and smoking sections in restaurants do not get rid of the smoke, and therefore do nothing to prevent the harm of secondhand smoke. Employees shouldn't be forced to breathe in smoke, just as the customers shouldn't have to.

I'm a smoker and I think they shouldn't ban smoking in bars because most of the patrons smoke.

Non smoker. Well I think they should just keep the smoking section for those who want to smoke and the non smoking for those of us who don't.
