In my opinion, Vermont will have a tough time trying to secede from the Union. Those things are hard to do if the split is purely along political lines. Vermont is a tiny state, surrounded by larger ones, and they would not let it happen, In the case of Cali.,geography would be a benefit, as would the states vast size. In fact, the whole Pacific West might be better off as an Independent country.

the only state that has a right to become it's own country is texas because the US took over after it was a country
so vermont can't succeed (but why does vermont want to leave anyway??) and if it did, that might start a civil war, like when all the south broke off because of lincoln
it could be pretty interesting to see what happened if vermont did break away

It relies upon on what form of crumple...If it incredibly is a head on melancholy or in common terms a hiccup of a recession. the two way, the Philippines (like numerous different u . s . a .) is heavily based at u.s.. look what got here approximately while the plain recession hit the Dow, while it fell, the pse fell...problematic, thus far shares could no longer recuperate simply by fact of all the indoors and exterior factors. The exterior factors are heavily prompted by utilising the states, as an occasion, assuming it reaches a factor of melancholy, it would quit importation of the two products and immigrants, subsequently we loose our greatest paying for and advertising better half and between the biggest components of the remitances that now form a important portion of the economic device... i think of we would be heading nowhere so at as quickly as we does no longer additionally be conscious that our economic device had already collapsed... I propose we've not even recovered totally simply by fact the 1997 economic disaster...(i think of) the united statescollapse might deliver a crumple of the worldwide economic device... If the united statesmonetary device might crumple...it incredibly is

Lets just deal with reality no state will be able to succeed. Vermont would be the last one to be able to do it because of their lack of a major economy that could support them. California could do it but they would never do it for so many reasons. This would do no good for any state to leave the US>

The feds would probably shrug if Vermont seceded.
There would be outright war if the 5th largest economy in the world, California, tried to secede taking billions of federal tax revenue with it.

Hmm... that's what the Civil War was about my friend. Didn't work then, would be a terrible idea now (no matter how virulently I disagree with the politics in some states); the union can only be strong if it stays intact.

It's "secede", dammit.
Read up on the period in American History from 1855 to 1870. Somewhere in there, you might just find out what would happen if anyone tried to secede. It would make Iraq and Waco look like an afternoon tea.

I don't care. Actually, I couldn't blame any states where there are secessionist movements. If Vermont ever becomes a country and it isn't controlled by those bizarre "Second Republic" guys, I would move there myself.
