Was he ever here?
Honestly, I have not seen a commissioner do so poorly for a major sport like hockey
He should have been gone several years ago.

It's been the time for him to go for awhile now.
Where is the petition already, Bob? I can't wait to sign that thing---something, anything!
I really feel he'll let the league corrode more and more as long as money's coming in to his pocket. His attitude about team's relocating or starting out anywhere says it all---it's sink-or-swim as a team, and if you don't succeed, let you be bought by the highest bidder.
It's no surprise that during the last lockout, all 10 suggestions to make the league better were made by players, coaches, and other NHL-affiliated associates. Gary Bettman has no idea what's going on. In general, I'm saying.

I am in full belief that his man should be completely removed from the NHL. It is obvious that he is not a Fan of the game, more like a fan of his pay-check. So he will cave into witch ever owner(s) has the power base. The game is driven by a cooperation of Fans, Players, and Owners if one goes away the others suffer. The NHL needs a Commissioner who understands this and believes this and who will act in accordance with the games best interest at hart. That is no other than Don Cherry

How's this for an answer...Gil Stein was a better commish than Gary Bettman, and Stein rigged his own Hall Of Fame induction! Time to go back to the NBA, Gary!

He is a moron.
It is against the politics of the owners, but they must go outside of their current circles to find a commisioner.
Look at how NASCAR finds sponsors and partners to improve their sport in a hundred different ways.
The dumbest thing is giving franchises to any city that shows up with an entry fee. Even the best fans can't keep track of the players.

Actually he's gotten them 2 lay-offs. He should have never been hired in the first place. What was it, like 1993 or 94 that he came on? The game was thriving then. That says it right there.
