Well, the world-wide stock market is in the toilet thanks to the American sub-prime mess, thank you very much. OUR economies were percolating along just fine before this hit, so your problem has messed up the rest of the economies a LOT. We're extremely nervous about the one remaining superpower arbitrarily deciding to throw out the Geneva conventions against torture. We're very nervous about the US's presumption that it has the right to invade countries like Iraq and Pakistan when it thinks it has good reason - that's an act of war to everyone else, no matter how you want to spin it. And we're not happy at all about the "my way or the highway" attitude that the US has been throwing around for the last 8 years. The rest of us have been effectively solving the problems of the world long before the US was even in existence - you barge in with your concept that you solve problems by shooting something and mess things up. There ARE other options - you just don't allow them to be considered. That's just off the top of my head. View from Canada.

The Wharton undergraduate program is very elite, very exclusive. It is even harder to get into than their graduate programs. Not being a U.S. citizen wouldn't hurt you, but without a GPA of near 4.0 and a near-perfect SAT score, I'm afraid you wouldn't have much of a chance. Your best bet might be to go to a community college, do extremely well, then transfer to a well-respected 4-year college, and go to Wharton for the MBA if you do extremely well there and get some work experience in between.

the wharton school of business in upenn is probably one of the hardest to get into. are you applying for undergrad or grad? my friend got into the school's undergrad program from a public high school in los angeles.
she graduated with an above 4.0 gpa, as a salutatorian, and had an sat score of around 1400/1600. she was also heavily involved in a lot of clubs and organizations.
she didn't necessarily have any business experience or anything like that (to my knowledge) but she was academically top notch and did a lot of extracurriculars to show that she wasn't all grades.

You need to be a U.S. citizen. You need to be able to speak English and write well. So far, I can see you're not going to make it.
