So, my sister just told me that there is an actual person who owns the moon... I'm just wondering if this is true? And if it is true, how the hell is this possible???

No country currently claims ownership of the moon. But some guy set up a private company called the Lunar Embassy to sell of plots of land on the moon based on the theory that no individual is bared from claiming part of the moon.

No country or person owns the moon. But if an alien civilization visited the moon after the human race vanished, the only name they would find would be Richard Milhous Nixon on the Apollo 11 plaque in the Sea of Tranquillity! Such irony from the only President to resign from office.
