Would I? Will I? Should I? That is what the Civil War was about. Thomas Hardy( I could be wrong here, freshman college English was a few years ago) said that war is where you would shoot a fellow that you would just as soon buy a beer for at the nearest pub. I have met Vietnamese students who were about the same age as the designated enemy I fought against many years ago. A case of old men asking young men to kill each other for useless ideals.

Well, I am afraid that the future of my country is more important than a friendship in the longrun. I would probably cry myself to sleep for months, if not years afterwards, but yes. I would fire at Will.

When you join you take an oath to follow all lawful orders. Therefore you don't fire when you want or at whom you might like. You fire when told at whomever you are told to fire at. (Provided the order is lawful. Exp. No firing at civilians.)
