those are the F******* numbers Damon Lindelof played with us at Lost Season 2 cuz they started as a really bad luck numbers with the Hurley's Flashbackas but then they were on the hatch and even on the computer that they'd have to enter every 108 mins... great writting...

I wish I knew the numbers' secret!!
Did you know that when Ben killed his dad, the numbers on his watch were 4, 15 and 16?? And did you know that when Hurley had this car accident, the speed thing was racing between those numbers, and the temperature was 23 or something???
Oh, and also, 4 + 8 + 15 + 16 + 23 + 42 = 108, which is the number of minutes they had to wait before entering the numbers????
And they were on flight 8-15??
I could go on forever.....

It is the hatch number, and it is also Hurley's lottery number.
Hurley things the number is bad luck, he blame himself because he things he brings all of the passengers to the island. 4+8+15+16+23+42=108. The button in the hatch need to be press every 108 minutes.
