No Ramirez is too solid of a 3rd Baseman. Plus the Cubs already have enough big contracts I doubt they could afford the biggest one.

when I saw windy city I thought you meant the white sox....
heheheh
and as for arod going to the cubs. i wouldnt rule it out. he does have a history wiht pinella since his days in the mariners organization.
now a days $$ talks and thats the bottom line.
it all depends on the cubs system at the time. they have to have a team around arod that he thinks could be an immediate threat for a WS ring. that is all he wants right now. that is why he went to NY in the first place.
personally im a boston fan so i would love to see arod in the NL, he absolutely kills us here, but i wouldnt be buying any arod cubs jerseys anytime soon if i were you.
and besides unless the cubs dish aramis ramirez off its a long shot. it would be a nice additionto the infield out there in CHI town but right now the cubs have bigger problems to worry about than the 08-09 offseason.
they need to get back to the playoff contends they CAN be and stop all the infighting thats going on over there now.
they also need to bolster up there pitching roster. Zambrano is only one guy and he only goes every 5th day. Kerry wood is injury prone and never will return to his top notch form of a few yrs ago, and mark prior's the same way too.
the additions they made of juan pierre and a few other guys gave this team expectations that they ahve yet to live up to this season and noone wants to be on a losing team so fighting amongst the players isnt uncommon. but to do it in the dugout during a national broadcast and than to have your manager suspended for 4 games, yeah thats not the signs of a team anyone in there right mind would want to go to anytime soon. sorry.

At this point in his career A-Rod wants a WS ring more than anything else. If he went to the Cubs it would almost guarantee that he would never get one . So no , A-Rod stays with the Yankees and gets his ring with them

Yes. He is friends with Pinella. By next year they will have a much better team to play on.
He would not be a defensive liability anywhere in the infield or outfield.
He and Soriano could hit a lot of homers in Wrigley.
If he wears out his welcome in NYC, the Cubs are one of only a few teams that could afford him.

ramirez is a solid 3B
plus arod seems to finally be fitting in in NY
and the Cubs dont have the money to support an arod contract
