but how can my durango still run.i added oil and the oil pressure gage came back up. there are no noises at all and it seems to run fine.

if it will run and there is oil pressure , and no noise the only other things i would check is blue smoke from exhaust or brown sludge in radiator or oil , smoke indicates piston rings are warn , and sludge in oil or rad indicates a crack in the block or head , if nothing is apparent drive on !

How long did you run it without oil? I guess a better question would be - why did you let the level get so low? You most likely did irreparable damage to the internals.

Did you do the magical JuJu dance first?You lucked out, there must have been just enough to keep lubing the engine. If it runs it sure aint blowed up.

u will need to add some treatment to the oil now . that will help just in case

if its running it is not blown up. but that does not mean you didnt damage it. why is it out of oil? you dont service it? or check it? does it leak?
