Some diseases can be transmitted to humans from animals such as dogs - these are known as zoonotic diseases. Many external and internal dog parasites are zoonotic.
External parasites such as fleas and mites (including Sarcoptes and Cheyletiella mites), can hop from dogs on to humans and cause a lot of itching skin, sometimes with an accompanying rash. These annoying little critters only remain on humans for a short while; they do not persist for a long period as they can on dogs.
Canine roundworms can also cause diseases in humans. Worm eggs are excreted in dog feces, and after two weeks in the environment they become infectious to humans. If accidentally ingested, the worms can migrate to organs like the liver, lungs, brain and eyes.
As these parasites are not supposed to be in a human body at all, the immune system responds by trying to wall them off to stop them moving any further.
Humans may also be infected with canine hookworms. As with roundworms, eggs are excreted in infected dog feces. These become infectious after five to ten days in the environment, when they have become larvae or juvenile worms capable of penetrating skin. When they come into contact with bare skin, they virtually "eat" their way in. They migrate under the skin leaving extremely itchy, red, swollen, winding tracts in their wake. This condition is referred to as cutaneous larva migrans.
But to answer your question: Yes, humans can contract tapeworm by swallowing a flea, but it is pretty rare. On very rare occasions, children have been infected with Dipylidium species by swallowing a flea accidentally. It generally causes tremendous cramping and discomfort.
Hope this answers your question!

Worms are typically passed on by eggs that are laid in feces and then end up in the soil.
If a human got some of that feces infected soil in her mouth, she could get worms
