You only have to be 17 to get into a Rated-R movie, not 18. My sister was able to get me into an Rated-R movie when I was 12.

No, I tried that out. Both have to be at least 17 OR there has to be a person older than 21 with you.

Nope, has to be a guardian. Of course, the 18 year old could buy two tickets and then walk in with the 16 year old...but they'll card if she/he is with you when you buy the tix.
The idiot below me has no idea what he's talking about...have to be 18 in every state to buy tix for an "R" movie.

I guess it depends on the person you buy the tickets from. When i was 18 and my sister was 16, she told the person she didn't have her ID on her, so they let me buy her ticket and they let us both into the movie.
