Have you seen a doctor? If left untreated, swimmer's ear can develop into a serious inner ear infection. You should see your doctor if the irritation lasts more than three days with over-the-counter treatment.

The American Academy of Otorhynolaryngology reports:
"For more severe infections, if you do not have a perforated ear drum, ear cleaning may be helped by antibiotics. If the ear canal is swollen shut, a sponge or wick may be placed in the ear canal so that the antibiotic drops will be effective. Pain medication may also be prescribed. Follow-up appointments with your physician are very important to monitor progress of the infection, to repeat ear cleaning, and to replace the ear wick as needed. Your otolaryngologist has specialized equipment and expertise to effectively clean the ear canal and treat swimmer’s ear."

Not something you want to mess with, trust me!

Good luck and feel better!!!

Mix peroxide with alcohol(half and half) Drop a few drops in each ear. It's dreadful if you have pain. My mom always used some hot packs on my ear. Don't prog around in your ears with q-tips as it will damage your ear drum. Push come to shove go see a doc. Your hearing is valuable . Don't injure yourself.
