It has to expand into some place right?

You are attempting to understand outer space in terms of things that you know and understand here on Earth. That won't work. Space is vast beyond your wildest imagination.

And, space, per se, is not expanding. The distances between objects in it are expanding over time. There is a great deal of difference between those two sttements and you need to take a moment to understand them completely. Outer Space, or the Universe, has never been defined as in from here to there, and about so high, etc. Those are all Earth bound terms. What we do know is that we can, with our present level of optical and radio telescope equipment, "see" out to a distance of 40 Billion Light years in all directions from Earth. Beyond that distance our equipment fails to provide any useable information to us. That is the technical limitation of our equipment, not the end of Space, or the edge of the Universe.

So, the last line of your question is meaningless.

It does NOT have to expand into some place.

There are no places outside the universe; the universe is all the places there are.

When we say that the universe is expanding, we mean that the distances between all the places in the universe are increasing, in other words, that there is more space today than there was yesterday.

People sometimes dont understand what the universe is actually contained in! Say the universe is an oval 3-d object and all the galaxies are contained within. No matter can go out side this oval but nothing can come in either. You could say that the universe is floating in empty space! Kinda like if you though an egg in the air (pretend the air is empty space and the egg is the universe)! Some scientists even believe that there may be more universes floating in this unimaginably vast empty space. This kind of thought surpasses human intellect! So my answer to your question is the the universe is expanding into empty space!

Good question because you make a common mistake. That is that space has always existed, not so. The big bang created space and so at the far edges of the universe this is still happening, that is space is being created out of nothing.

So space is expanding into nothing. Nothing was here before the big bang, no space, not anything

Nothingness - the universe is all of the galaxies, light, and space itself. Outside of the universe, not even space exists. At this point, I must mention that we have absolutely no idea what is beyond - this for the moment is the realm of philosophy and religeon.

into space. there are many theories about this. some say that the universe will continue growing while others think that one day the gravitation force of the sun will pull all the planets towards it and collide.

Wrong there is nothing out there and it does not have a medium for it to travel in. It is so big it is irreverent to think about it.There is no way for u to go look at it.
