There are lots of variables. How many rooms does it have? Does it have a long hallway, or several hallways? They use up valuable space. What are the dimensions of each room? How will you be using them? Sometimes long, narrow rooms work, sometimes squarish rooms are best, depending upon one's needs. In any event, it sounds like a reasonable size for one person.

Congratulations on your first apartment. Whether 900 sq. ft. it is decent depends on how many people you have living with you. I lived by myself in a 1-bedroom, 700 sq. ft. apartment for 9 years. That was enough space for me. Most 1 bedrooms in my area average around 600 sq. ft. 900 sq. ft. is average for a 2-bedroom 2-bath apartment. Remember, when you are in an apartment, you are throwing money away to the landlord. With a house, if you get too much space, at least you get your money back when you sell it. With an apartment, it just doesn't make sense to get more space than you need.

My husband and I live in a downtown area of a larger city and we were looking for condos in that same size. Our Realtor told us there is "large" 900 sq. feet and "small" 900 sq feet. It really depends on the layout, how tall the ceiling is, etc. 900 sq.feet can seem huge if done really well (our condo is that and seems bigger) but can be really small if done poorly. Also, storage is a huge factor in a place that size. If there isn't sufficient storage, it will make it seem smaller as you put your stuff out instead of hidden away in closets and such. Either way if it is just you, you will be just fine, especially if we can fit two people and a dog into ours.

It's not huge, but it spacious enough for 2 or 3 people at the most. Myself, my husband, and our 6 year old live comfortably in a 937 sq foot condo.

Its a little smallish to medium. At 2 rooms it would be 18 feet x 25 feet. For one person (and not alot of "baggage" yet) it would probably be OK.

It's average to decent. I own multiple rental properties, and that is the size of the majority of them.
