There is one guy that constantley gets over looked because he plays on a so so team and many think he's a little on the old side. That player is Jason Kidd, who once again lead the NBA in triple-doubles for the second year in a row.
Not Kobe ( No leadership ability. Can not direct the floor )
Not Wade ( He can't seem to stay healthy )
Not LeBron ( My second choice )
Not Nash ( He can't play defense. 2nd string guards use him )
Kidd!
If the Nets had the Marevicks record and Jason Kidd was allowed to shoot the ball as much as LeBron and Kobe was there would be no question. Yet, Kidd still drop triple-doubles on any team or guard in the NBA.
There's more to the game of basketball than hype dunks and scoring. This generation needs to recognized that.

thats really a tough one but I think most want a team that is winning or will win the nba title but not me. kobe is probably the best player going but too much drama with him but not to take away from his skills he is the best right now. tim duncan is a great choice for the spurs with his consistant scoring and rebounding ability. lebron is a great player and when he gets over himself and quits tuning up his nose every time a foul gets called against him i will like him alot better. dirk wow what a player he is for his size he can do it all but at play-off time where is he. he is like the colts were until they won a championship over-rated in the big ones. i think kobe is the best but we have alot of talent out there. i like gilbert arenas from washington personally because he has a shot the won't quit except ray allen has a very pretty shot as well. i could go to bat for any one of these players and more so really who is the best player?

Lebron James is the best this year....here's why:
> he has lifted his team to greater heights....the nba finals....
> he won more games than kobe....
> he's a winner and a true leader and always accepts criticism and takes the blame when their team loses....
bottom line:
kobe scores better but lebron wins more....
and winning is what matters most....

The same player as last year and every year since 1997-98 season.
Tim Duncan...... the best since his rookie year... was robbed of the regular season MVP award in 1999(his second season by Karl Malone) and in 2004 by Kevin Garnott...(I mean nett). Duncan probably should have won the regular season MVP award this season (2006-07). The Spurs have been the best team since the beginning of February...(the only meaningful part of the NBA's regular season)

Dirk until the end of the season, did you see his games? But people only remember the playoff flameout. Duncan and LeBron in the playoffs.
