Yes. But it's more likely that its lust or infatuation. It's rare that a 16 year old has the insight into themself or someone else enough to fall into real love. Many adults don't even get it. What teens usually feel at this age is usually based on superficial stuff that won't last. However, I met my husband at barely 18 years old. We are now 31 and have a wonderful and loving marriage. I've heard of others falling in love at 15 or 16 and staying happily married until they die of old age. If my daughter came to me and said she was in love at 16 I would be quite skeptical and caution her about getting to serious at such a young age.
I guess nothing is cut and dry in life or love.

I think that they can, but at 16 I would think most of it would be based on things other than what true love is based on.

unfortunately not you only figure that out when you get old. you can really like someone though. and it might turn into love. i have been with my boyfreind 6 yrs and we are getting married next yr. i meet him when i was 16. always use protection

in some ways, but a person really has to be through it more than once to really know....you gotta learn to get the tough part of relationships...and alot of young kids don't understand that, or whats beyond it.

only from experience some ppl tend to know what it means from things happening around them so thier mind and feelings grow wayy faster than thier age....but others experience young love which is only temporary

age duznt matter wen it comes 2 love. love is something u learn on ur own time. so yes...well some mature 16 year olds...
i mean i am a mature 14 year old and i THOT i knew wat love was.....but i was wrong....i guess u just learn it wen the time is right. i mean u cood find out wat love is from a terrible stiuation or a breathtaking expieriance....it just depends on the person...
