Help! I need motivation to work from home. I run a small ebay business and really want to be a internet marketer, doing affiliate programs. I like the idea of working at home, but I need the motivation to get things done!! Please inspire me with all your ideas! Many thanks, Jade.

Hi!

All said and done, working from home is not as easy at its made out to be. So be prepared to set your own times but have the determination to stick to it. It is very easy to get swayed and become lax and put off things till "tomorrow". Don't fall into that trap. Have a mind set that this is a professional business and treat it as such. Think what you would expect of an employee working in your firm and have similar expectations from yourself... because... aren't you your own employee???

Make a list of things you need to get done for the day. First, finish off the small ones which don't take much time, so that you have the better part of your working hours dealing with the more important stuff.

As you finish your tasks, strike them off. This works for me. You may have to fine tune this to suit you best.

All the best!

Regards,
namz

Work from home or bad men will show up at your house.
Work from home or all you teeth will suffer terrible tooth decay.
Work from home or all sorts of terrible things will happen.

...and if this doesn't motivate you, then seriously try spending a few minutes a day just thinking about (some people call it visualizing, I just call it thinking about) all the benefits you will get. Think about how you will handle problems, and what you can do. For me this works as great motivation, but after a day or so I start slacking off again so try to do it daily.

Still, only you can really provide the motivation you need. We can offer suggestions, but in the end its up to you.

95% of home gyms end up becoming clothes racks in the garage/basement due to the fact most people have too many other things to do when they get home. I don't know how many times I invested in home exercise stuff just to fizzle out in less than a month. Your discipline has to be REEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAALY high to work out at home. Lunch time workouts have always been best for me, but that only works if the gym is in close proximity to your job. Afterwork was no good for me because by then I was too tired and just wanted to go home. I'm not a morning person so before work was not good. Most people don't realzie that you only need to work out 30-45 min in the gym if you have a good workout program. So lunchtime just was best for me. Good luck!

It's difficult, have you got a garage area or suchlike so you can mentally 'leave home and go to work' then don't go back 'till lunch time. You need an area that is free from distraction.
I run a business and have the opportunity to live on site, I don't. I like my work seperate from my family, but if you must work from home the area must be seperate in every way, no kids, pets spouses, keep it as a work area only and be there on time every day and don't leave untill the working day is over.
Work hard and it will be ok.

Look for some networking online networking sites and try to find a buddy who is in a similar situation. You can both encourage each other. I am starting my own home business and also finding it challenging to stay focused but there are a few buddies I email with about progress and what we've been able to cross off our to-do lists. It does help.

Pretend you're not at home! Get up at 6am, go through your exercise routine, shower, eat breakfast, and go to your OFFICE. About 1-2 times per week, go out for lunch with other self-employeed individuals. Don't do any home chores from 8-5.

Break tasks up, and only allow yourself a "reward" when you've done X amount of work. Try to keep a reasonable do list - not too long, but long enough to get stuff done. Allow things time to work before you get despondent.

u need to create a space thats for work only!
so no phones no tv no food no pets, nothing to disturb u!
just a desk and ur essential work items, and when u enter that area its your office.

dont ever do any other activity in that area and it will encourage you to concentrate whenever your there.

i use the same technique when im doing uni work at home.

good luck!
