I didn't say I was so happy. I worry about world events a lot.

Possibly because I know that I am 'in' this world, but I am not 'of' this world. I know that this world must pass away so that a new one can come into play. I know that I have been saved and will be taken away from the horrible events that are to come. We have not seen anything described as 'horrible' yet - the worst (not best) is yet to come. I am happy because I am free. I have no need to fear and because my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will come for me. I am also happy because I know that these things must come to pass. While my happiness is not directed toward the sadness and the events that happen of themselves, I do have sympathy and empathy for others who suffer. My prayers are with them, their families and with our world that more people will see the truth and come to know that there is a God before it is too late. **While I know others may not share my opinion, please understand, these are my beliefs and I do not force them on anyone, but share them as others would share their opinions and beliefs.) Thank you.

I just wrote my last paper today. I worked really hard for this degree and I worked a full time job while studying and taking care of my family. I should mention that I did charity work for my church while doing all those things too.
Give me my happiness please.
I live in South Africa. My country's major unions are on strike. I am going to attempt going to work tomorrow, will see if the armed guards are still at school. My dd had to stay on home on Friday because I was paranoid about practising riot drills and fire drills. I know all about the horrible things, but why should I let that take my joy away from me.

That's the point, I can't be happy. And I'm saying this without any trace of irony. Every time I feel happy I see someone in pain and I just can't help remembering that somewhere on the other side of the world there's a war going on or something similar. And I just feel guilty for even being happy, that's how I got depressed actually.

Horrible events have been around since the dawn of time...either accept it and move on, or wallow in misery...I chose to hang out by the beer cooler and enjoy life...

"so happy" is a bit of a stretch. but i do strive to be happy. i think it's important. what is life w/o a little happiness? you have to live for the little things that bring you joy.

Because you have to learn that if you get all emotional every time you think about something like that then you will be miserable.
