spotting can be anywhere from a drop of blood to a day or two (or more, like me!) of brown blood, usually never enough to need a pad, maybe just a pantyliner. I would wait another week befroe testing at least, if you are pg it will not show up yet anyway.

Spotting should not affect HPT. They measure the amount of the hormone Hcg in the urine. The commercials say that you can test as soon as 5 days before your next period.

Go and get a test. Buy the box w/two tests. do one in the am. If it is a neg. result, wait unti the weekend and do the other one.

You will get the most accurate result using morning pee. Since it tests for the hormone, there is more that has built up overnight rather than in the last couple of hours.

I never tracked my cycle, so I don't know a whole lot about the # of days thing. I have gotten pregnant 5 times. I have never had a 'false' result w/a HPT. If you test in the am, and the hormone is present-you should have your answer.

Also, bear in mind that it can take up to 10 days or so for the fertilized egg to implant in the uterus, the uterus to signal the brain that the baby is there, and the body to start producing the hormone.

Good Luck.

I'd take a test on the 10th or 11th...that's the soonest you can test anyway. Spotting is anything that is not like your normal period I would say. You're not filling a pad....maybe you just have some blood on the tissue....etc... Could be implantation bleeding...only last a few days. Wait it out and test.
