I have suggestions! I hope they will help! We have a similar website for my spouse's small group, into gardening/public ed.

First of all, I gave them a gmail account, and bought them a domain name. Domain names are cheap: $8 or less per year. Worthwhile to own yer own dotcom or dotorg or dotwhatever...all you get from freebies is something.freebie.com or whatever. You buy it, you get www.something.com! More recognition, if you'd like it.

Anyway, once you get a name and a gmail address, the "hosting" space is all free. Get a service through Google called "Google Apps for My Domain" shortname GAFD...it's an interactive page builder, if you don't know html, or on the other hand, if you do, you can get around their premade templates and upload yer own, fully customized stuff.

With the gmail, you'll have a common email address all members of the group can share. Through Google you can also set up (1) a "Personal Start Page" which will be, like a "Google Search Page" with news items and such that all members can share, (2) a group blog, (3) a group "Group" where members can have on-going discussions (...similar to Yahoo! Answers...) (4) Documents and Spreadsheets... commonly editable, (5) a contacts list of members, (6) a shared Calendar, and (7) other stuff...

Sound good?

If you do not have or have limited web design skills, and do not have they money to hire a web designer I would suggest that you purchase a web hosting account from someplace like, http://www.freewebhosting.ws they offer a free web site builder with any web hosting account. Web hosting is priced on the website at $2.50 = $30.00 yearly. You can then simply use the website builder to build and maintain your soccor team website, add pictures, news, and team meetings, etc...Nothing to download, just point and click.

Or you could purchase a domain name from http://www.ourcheapdomains.com and the domain comes with a website starter up-to five pages, but is ad supported. The other company is ad free. If you don't mind the ads this might be the route for you to go.

Good Luck.

Depends, you can chose ever a server or a sitebuilder comapny. It will cost alot of money, I bought one which only lets you have 3 pages though but is only 48£. A server is normally bought if you intend PHP or HTMXL (Like Bebo). I would firmly recommend www.fasthosts.co.uk, a sitebuilder company. You will be able to upload pictures, videos, events, blogs, calenders and such and you can also but your site on google with fasthosts free of charge. Also, if your planning some HTML or advanced imagery check out coffeecup . com they offer a fare range of cool and free software to get your website looking proffessional.

Hope this helps..

First, purchase a domain and a web host. http://www.godaddy.com is the cheapest I've found, just shop around.

Then, get a trial version of Macromedia Dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com

Then, play around till you got something you like.

If you don't want to go the Dreamweaver route, use the templates that come with the domain name.
