in October.....Its the playoffs, the finals are called the World Series!

Baseball playoffs start in October, usually it is just the MLB playoffs. There are the two leagues, AL and NL. Each league has a divisional series seeding the 1 seed vs. the wild card assuming they are not in the same division (noting each league has 3 divisions, 1 team makes it from each division for having the best record, 1 other team makes it from the league for having the best record of the rest aka the wild card). Then the other series is the 2 vs. 3 seeds. The winner of those 2 series meet in the AL or NL Championship series. Then the winner of the AL and NL face off in the World Series.

The first round is called the (American | National) League Divisional Series, best 3 of 5.
Next is the (American | National) League Championship Series, best 4 of 7.
Finally, the World Series, best 4 of 7.
After the World Series, there is no more baseball for a few months, which is never much fun.
