Why is the elephant sooo very coool?

seriously, like I've heard how are very compassionate animals and intelligent too. What are the best qualities of the elephant?

Elephants are EXTREMELY intelligent and rank rather high in the top ten of smartest animals. As researchers are learning more and more about them there are many who want to move them up in the ranks.

As far as their love goes... it is a wonderful thing but also a horrid thing for their species. Why do you ask? I am sure you know that elephants get poached rather often. During many of the poaching hunts elephant calves are orphaned. Elephants hold such a strong bond with one another that many calves die from depression after their loss. There are times too where the calf refuses to leave the side of the fallen mother and starves to death.

Another example of how they depend on one another... there are many cases where an adult that is getting ready to die will walk away from the herd, one or two elephants will join that elephant and stay with them until they die. Once the elephant has passed they others will join back up with the herd.

As far as their best quality... I would have to say their ability to learn quickly and pick up new "tricks" as well as the love the herd has for one another.
