I found an egg. It is off-white with scattered, small black spots. It is about the size of a golf ball. I would like to know what kind of egg it is.

Eggs of many species of birds are VERY similar. Without photos, it would be impossible to tell. Even WITH photos, it is often extremely difficult. Also, you need to take into consideration your location, the location of the egg, what birds are in breeding in that region, etc. Tough problem.
