I am (bordering on was) a Democrat, and all I see from the leaders (and the rank and file) of my party is more of the same crap that I saw when the Repubs were in power (Rep. William Jefferson anyone?), just with a slightly different flavor.

So I ask, is my party just as full of hypocrites and liars, and, if so, are they really then any better than the Republicans?

"Without some specifics, you're just trolling."

From my question:

"of my party is more of the same crap that I saw when the Repubs were in power (Rep. William Jefferson anyone?)"

Don't answer my questions anymore.

"and vote term limits for congressmen."

I agree completely, but it will never happen.

You said specifics, and I gave you a specific example IN MY QUESTION. Now I have to give you a pattern? At least you're not trying to back pedal out of your stupidity by adding to the requirements.

Stop answering my questions you twit.

I'm a liberal and I say, Dump William Jefferson, Dump them all in congress, and vote term limits for congressmen. Outlaw lobbying, it should be illlegal. Why are my tax dollars paying Karl Rove??? That just turns my stomach.

You're a democrat today, so you're party is full of hypocrites and liars because the liberal base isn't blindly loyal, trotting out to the booths to make people love Jesus and protect the delicate fragile business communty and crap like that. It's very easy for droves and droves of liberal-voters to get bored with all politicians and forget there's even an election.
The liberal candidates find it easier to connect with money than with their base. You and I would find it easier too.

Tomorrow I hope you find that last bit of courage you need to make the leap to republican. Then your party will be full of hypocrites and liars because of the kind of people
you will find most like to come out for the primary-nominations
in your party. But you might get to join the fred-heads or perhaps nominate Tancredo. Both of which would be quite cool.

There will be less of the lying-and-hypocrites thing then. And democrats never wanted your blind loyalty anyway. Voting just to vote against the GOP is sad as an only reason to be inspired to go out and vote. And most liberal-voters know that.

We always look much sillier than the pubs when we give into our hate.

The question should be when will we get a President that isn't a hypocrite and liar. There is so much corruption in the government today. We need honest and law abiding people to run our country. So when you vote look for these qualities and don't believe everything you hear. It is so easy to cover up your past, just look at Bush. When the people start demanding honesty in our government and the guilty are punished severely, we may have a chance. Of course it is a long shot, but something that needs to be done. Our lives and the lives of our children depend on it.

Nancy Pelosi said she'd bring an honest and ethical congress back to America . Then she places people with ethics violations in charge of committees. . . . . . . and right in our face too . She tried more , but was only stopped be her own party because they knew she was ruining any chance of a Democrat to win the whitehouse . But 'right in our face'. . . that to me was shocking . No qualms about it , no reservations , and she made no attempt to deny , explain , or acknowledge her actions . I've never gotten over the unmitigated gall of such a person . Minus any responsibility for what she said and then what she did , that tells me she doesn't care . She doesn't care if it looks bad , and she doesn't care if it is bad . That's scary enough , but then add to that her comment after being sworn in. . . . " I'm now the most powerful woman in the world " . NO LEADER EVER SAYS THAT !!!

EDIT* - Forgive me , but I forgot something . Although she publicly said William Jefferson's corruption was unacceptable , she still was able to wield her biased sword , because she didn't say that she demands his immediate resignation. . . . . . .when prior to this , when a republican was indicted , she called for immediate resignations . A double-standard by anyone's assessment !!!

In fairness, you will find the base-type personalities on both sides.

The reason the democratic party is in such ruin is the socialist doctrine that has permeated and continues to grow like black mold.

It will not get better until we turn them on their heads; vote them out then supplant them with people who are willing to represent our interests. There must be consequences to inaction and poor action on their part.

Republicans believe in people. Democrats don't.

Remember that it was the Democrats that stripped William Jefferson of his chairmanships and committee assignments and Republicans that challenged the legality of the search.

Power and money are the reason to be in politics, not leading and helping the common good. Personal ambition and winning votes;receiving bribes and kickbacks.Opportunity to get as much as possible,no matter how it's done.
