im building a website displaying a list of properties/houses. when someone searches it displays info according to te search. I will use recordset to display the info from the database. Say, when a list of houses appear from the search, i select a house and it goes to a page about that house only. This is done by a recordset/master detail page? and within that page i want a menu to display info, mre pics, etc. How do i do this as i want the menu in flash. does that mean i need to make separate menu for each house! or using recordset will be easier where i link the menu to open a page and that page will display the relevant info extracting data from the database so i will not need to make separate pages!! bu ti reli do want to use flash! help if any1 understands!!!

I don't think I've understood your specific problem, but I would urge you not to do your menu in Flash. It cuts down potential viewers of your page, as they have to have the Flash plug-in, and also is less accessible for people who use screen readers.

These days you can do almost everything you would want using dynamic HTML and Javascript. Have a look at some of the new Javascript toolkits - Yahoo's own YUI (http://developer.yahoo.org/yui), script.aculo.us, Rico (www.openrico.org), Dojo (http://dojotoolkit.org) - there are some amazing effects you can do with just a few lines of code and no Flash in sight.

You are a bit confusing...
I assume that if you have a database, you are using MySQL.
To access MySQL, you use PhP.
So, you design a TEMPLATE for houses: a PhP page that reads a lot of data related to one parameter passe to it (i.e. the house reference number).
Then PhP collects the data from the DB, and builds an HTML page that is downloaded to the user.
The only problem with templates is that they are more or less fixed (froozen), and they need the same data for any house, that is, ie. a large image, two small images, a bit of text, a title etc... Each data must have the same name, so you save the data in a directory by reference.
Post you website here, so we can have a look.

If you can program c# that would have been an easy task! Just use one of coffecups progs that makes the seach engine and stuff for you. Profession comes from saving time not showing your ability to build a site manually ( although it might be exciting haaay i made my own site!)

It relies upon on what proportion customers you anticipate to get entry to it. lots of customers then MS sq. or Oracle (I desire the former) - few customers its something like get entry to. get entry to is likewise a lot extra easily programmable (and much less annoying to understand) than the extra helpful databases.
