What 4 year college did you go too?

I know it should not be in this catagory, but it might help anyway.

I have this project due on the 7th, and in this class we are trying to find out where we want to transfer too. People in the U.S. please because I live there, but I would still like to hear the ones in other Countries as well. I can't interview a close friend or relative. Which still sucks because I will be the first to complete college. If you are interested I really appreciate it if you are willing too, and here are the questions. Has to be Class of 97 till now thanks.

I went to a community college first and hope to go to a 4 year college soon for my Bachelors. Ive already chosen Buff State in New York because I researched all the colleges in New York fully and they have the best program for my major (history). Since I've never been to a 4 year college yet though I will answer with info my brother and my sister (who both attended different universities).
1. My brother attended Fredonia and my sister attended Plattsburgh.
2. My brother attended Fredonia because he believed through his research that it would be the best college for his major and also because it was close. My sister (who had the same major as my brother) attended Plattsburgh (even though it was 8 hours away) because she believed that college to have the best program.
3. The campus atmosphere in Fredonia is very "different". Most people who attend Fredonia are pursuing music degrees so the campus tends to cater more to music pursuits rather than academic but its really not that bad. In Plattsburgh, the atmosphere was much different than Fredonia. Its a bigger university so there was a lot more diversity for one thing. And the academics there seem to be more important than in Fredonia (but keep in mind I cant answer that with 100% certainty because I've never actually gone to school there myself)
4. My brother and my sister were both prepared for there current careers. My brother just landed an $18 an hour job and is going back to Fredonia in August for his Masters. My sister is currently in the race for a $13 an hour job and also plans to go back after her wedding next year. By the way, they both had majors in Speech Pathology and my sisters minor was Psychology. My brothers was Childhood Education.
5. Basically the purpose of a college education is to prepare you for your chosen field. And most places require a degree before they even think about hiring you.
6. In community college, I liked the fact that the teachers actually cared about the amount of knowledge you took in versus high school where most teachers just "teach the test" now. Also, people are different in college. In high school, there may be cliques and popularity contests. In college, you dont have that. Everybody is there for the same reason, to get an education and to better themselves. Popularity means nothing in college. Knowledge is everything.
7. Honestly, there was nothing I liked least about college. I loved the whole experience. My sister just hated the fact that she was so far away and my brother didnt like the immense workload.
8. Cant answer this yet. And my sister and brother are as yet not completely finished either.
9. When I first started college I wasnt prepared for the challenge. I was a procrastinator in high school and everything came easily to me so I just sailed through. In college, there is no room for procrastinators. I knew that it would be harder but I didnt know how much harder. I just wish I wouldve started some projects earlier or worked on them a little more because I couldve finished with a higher GPA (I have a 3.3 which is good but I know I couldve done better if I had only put more effort into it).
10. Narrow down your choices to about 4. Apply to all those colleges and then research research research. Pick the best one for you. Dont slack off for a minute. You need all the time you can get for studying. If you thought high school could be hard, college can be much much harder. Just put your all into everything you do.

University of Central Florida.
I attended it because it had the 2nd highest ranked Chemistry depart. in the USA.
The campus is beautiful, teachers were good, some a bore, the only problem i had was the traffic around the school.
I got a degree, but became an electrician, and yes, it helped.
It makes you better thinker and problem solver.
The best thing about attending is that you get the chance to meet people from all walks of life.
The religious fanatics are the worst thing.
Passing annlytical chemistry, a very hard course.
To watch out for religious fanatics.
My advice is to go, learn, meet new people, take your classes seriously, do the studying thing, don't party too much, and watch out for the religious fanatics, they prey on lonely people being away from home for the first time!!

Going to college is a great experience, and I hope you go!!!!!!
