Gore is quite adamant and sincere about his global warming ideas but since I've been born we've had talk of global cooling and global warming.
According to my grandparents who were born and lived in the same town for over 80 years, they say the weather cycles around , their ancestors relied on weather to sustain them on the farms ..... well that was all before cars/machinery fumes were an issue so global warming may be some of the issues of today's weather but Mother Nature has control 101% and no human nor any human's catastrophic inventions is more powerful than NATURE.

There is evidence that the phenomena is unrelated to the activities of man. The following essay contains a link to some of that work.
Al Gore is to be commended on his presentation in “An Inconvenient Truth”.
The success of his presentation is based on a very simple and well-understood phenomenon.
PEOPLE will continue to DOUBT a concept that is presented in a logical manner with a plethora of scientific evidence from reproducible trials.
PEOPLE will BELIEVE something that they have been allowed to assume is true regardless of the facts.
The illusionist simply allows you to assume that the rabbit materialises in the hat. If you assume that the spoon is bent purely by psychic force then you will continue to believe that.
If you don’t examine the trick hoop then you will always believe that the lady was levitated over the table.
The magician simply does the trick without comment, he allows you to assume.
Illusionists and magicians are trained to “allow” the mark to assume that things are true by avoiding the issue of telling them that it is true or false.
Various “presenters” are trained to do the same thing. Another beauty is to talk about something as if it has already happened or is already accepted as true.

Gore asks the marks to IMAGINE what the effects of this or that must be, always compared with something quite unrelated.
Remember that imagination is the logic of the subconscious.
Once you have imagined that these effects are real then the rest follows easily.
Is it the truth?
Do you think that the truth needs to be presented in this way?
Perhaps it is time it was.

This link shows some of the devices used in Gores presentation.

This next link is a fairly technical analysis of the latest information.
In fairness the authors do something similar.
http://www.just-boilers.com/ungraph.jpg....
The analysis clearly shows that natural temperature variations have gradually warmed the Earth for over 200 years before CO2 became an issue.
Their data would support an argument that the Greenhouse effect is not responsible for the ongoing warming. But they stop short of saying that.
Now this could be Scientific conservatism. I see it as a deliberate ploy to have the readers make the assumption on their own accord. Much more effective.

You may ask; how do I protect myself from this type of spiel?
The answer is easy to give, harder to follow.
If you are looking at a car ignore the “what would I need to offer to have you sign now” bit and go home to think about what you really want.
If the seminar is selling condos or asking you to invest your life’s savings accept the free gifts and run like hell.
If it is a movie become involved and enjoy the fantasy but remember that you cannot fly once you leave the theatre.
In short reset your critical thinking in the clear light of day in the sure knowledge that we can all be fooled.
As Honest Abe said: “You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time – but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”

Just a side point...

Al Gore did not invent global warming theory. He just created a documentary because he is apparently concerned about the environment. And since most United Statesians are scientific illiterate, he created something that the general public can at least begin to understand. But he is not a scientist!

So, if you or anyone else has a problem with the concept of the greenhouse effect, I suggest you go to the primary literature and critique the actual science...not the "dog and pony" show Al Gore put together.

It's a cycle.

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace in a continual state of alarm (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing them with an endless series of hobgoblins."

Hi. The data supports that something is causing Climate Change. We may or may not be totally responsible, but are almost certainly partially so, in my opinion.
